Dear Son,
In 1994, The Easton Press released The Book of the Thousand Nights and a Night: With Introduction Explanatory Notes on the Manners and Customs of Moslem Men and a Terminal Essay Upon The History of the Nights. The release was of 17 Volumes presented through Morocco leather binding, with elaborate gilt gold and silver tooling on the spine and on the front and back covers; Moiré silk used for the front and end pieces; and satin for the sewn-in place-marker. We are delighted to have this entire set in our library:
While we enjoy having this wonderfully-produced editions, it's good to share a cautionary note. Some publishers present books in an "abridged" versus full version of the original work. There are abridged, single-volume editions out there, for example, of The Book of the Thousand Nights and a Night. Son, since your Dad and I went to the trouble of getting the entire 17-volume set, we expect you to read every word someday.
Love,
Mom and Dad
